FICO® Credit Bureau Characteristic Library

By: FICO AIID

A bureau-neutral library of 270+ summary characteristics generated from North American consumer credit bureau data, covering delinquency, utilization, inquiries, credit mix, and more, available in real-time or batch.

The FICO® Credit Bureau Characteristic Library (CBCL) is a Managed IP Service that delivers over 270 bureau-neutral summary characteristics generated from raw data returned by North American consumer credit bureaus. CBCL covers multiple dimensions of credit report data, including delinquency, utilization, time in file, credit mix, inquiries, and summary metrics, calculated as sums, percentages, ratios, and time-since values across multiple time periods and delinquency levels. The library normalizes data across all supported bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax in both the US and Canada) using consistent characteristic logic, enabling lenders to seamlessly switch bureau preferences without disrupting analytic models or strategies. CBCL is available in real-time or batch and can be used with FICO Data Orchestration (FDO), the Data Access Service (DAS), or as a standalone service. FICO continuously monitors bureau changes and updates the library accordingly, with new characteristics automatically available to existing subscribers at no additional charge.Free trial
